こんにちは。 I chose to study Japanese because I want to visit the country through a study abroad trip, and ensure a better understanding of the culture in that experience. I have been exposed to some aspects of Japanese culture in my early life from food to shows to art to games, and those bits of the country have always stood out to me and been some of my favorite things. So for the past couple of years, it has been my ultimate goal to travel there since it feels like I have several connections there already and there is so much I am yet to discover that also align with what I enjoy. Additionally, I wanted to learn a new language outside of the romance languages and challenge myself to learn one with characters. Since a few Asian languages are similar to Japanese, I hope this can help me practice skills to also learn others.
